Biography

The bass-baritone Marcos Fink was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina into a Slovenian family. He received his vocal instruction from Ivan Ivanov and Victor Srugo, and participated in repertoire master courses given by Phillipe Huttenlocker, Wolfgang Schöne, Erik Werba, Aldo Baldin. In 1988 he obtained a scholarship and furthered his instruction with Lady Heather Harper and Robert Sutherland in London. He made his opera debut at the Grossesfestspielhaus in Salzburg in 1990.

Discography

Marcos Fink has recorded over 60 CDs, among which Canciones Argentinas (Grammy nomination 2007) and a selection of Slovenian songs Slovenija! recorded for Harmonia mundi together with his sister the mezzoprano Bernarda Fink, give him special pleasure. He has participated in the recordings of 5 complete operas: Mozart’s Cosi fan tutte, Don Giovanni (CD and DVD) and The magic flute and Händel’s Agrippina (Grammy nomination 2012).

Répertoire

Marcos Fink performs as soloist in opera and concert houses around the world. He is regularly invited by concert and opera organizers, concert houses, conductors, composers and stage managers. He is not restricted to a certain music period. Marcos Fink sets high standards for himself concerning vocal and stage performance and is convinced that an artist has to be in the service of music and theater. We can hear him in baroque as well as modern music. He is very keen of »Lied« singing where he can show his interpretative stength.
